Bellvitge University Hospital belongs to the Catalan Health Institute (ICS), the leading public company in providing health services in Catalonia. The centre is part of the Southern Metropolitan Management Administration Area of the Catalan Health Institute (ICS), the highest management and coordinaton body of the whole centers, services and healthcare institutions of ICS in the city of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat and the towns of El Baix Llobregat, L'Alt Penedès and El Garraf.
Bellvitge Hospital is one of five accredited tertiary centres of Catalonia. This is the highest level of complexity, which allows to attend patients who require the highest technology.

The Catalan Institute of Health (ICS) is a public corporation of the Catalan Government. It is the largest health service provider in Catalonia. With a workforce of over 41,000 professionals, ICS provides health care to nearly six million citizens. That represents about 80% of total insured people in Catalonia.
Currently, ICS operates eight hospitals within the hospital network for public use and 285 primary care centres, and several specific health resources.
In addition to those services, ICS develops scientific activity through nine research institutes, integrated into hospitals and primary care centres.
Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO) is a public non-profit institute, created in March 1995 and assigned to the Catalan Health Service (CatSalut). ICO is a comprehensive cancer care centre that manages all the elements and efforts to combat cancer.
ICO Network has three centers, associated with big public hospitals: ICO L'Hospitalet, in Duran i Reynals Hospital in Bellvitge Campus; ICO Girona, in Josep Trueta Hospital, and ICO Badalona, in Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital. It also has established collaboration agreements with several regional hospitals.
